Donating to Seeds for Development

When you support our projects your money goes directly from us to the people on the ground.  We do this through WorldRemit - an online money transfer company.  The money arrives on the recipient's mobile phone as mobile money and they can then withdraw it or transfer it on.  COVID forced us to change how we operate and this is one of the very positive outcomes. We can now monitor and account for every penny that is sent.  If you would like your money to be used for a specific "thing" please let us know and we can make that happen.  Otherwise the money is used for food, seeds, education and emergency medical treatment/medicine.

The reason that 100% of the donation goes to our projects and not admin/overheads is because we run Seeds for Development in our spare time.  We have no staff in the UK and one part time Project Manager in Uganda (who is paid for by one donor every month).  Our travel expenses (transport, accomodation and food) on our trips to Uganda (twice a year) are covered by the GiftAid from donations or paid for by the person travelling.

Over the years there has been an explosion of different ways to donate to charities and we have signed up to many of them, making it as easy as possible for you to donate where you want to, rather than us telling you where to.  You can donate directly, donate by shopping online or donate through your employer.

Below are some of the platforms we are active on and where you can donate directly to us.  Our goal is not to confuse and overwhelm you with too much choice, but to let you know that, if you already use these platforms, we are on them!

If you don't want to look and just want to give, we suggest Givey.  Simple, straightforward and they take care of the Giftaid.

If you are a UK taxpayer and making a donation directly through our bank account, here is a Seeds for Development Gift Aid Form (PDF) which you can download, print, fill in and send in the post with your donation to Juniper Cottage, Shalford, GU4 8DA.

However you choose to donate, we are extremely grateful for your generous support.

We have joined Stewardship.  They have been around for decades, don't look like they will ever close and are straightforward and easy to use.  They mange GiftAid for us.
